Grey's Anatomy this Thursday 2 hours. OMG I have to work.

Private Practice next Thursday 2 hours. I think I actually will be home for this one.

I was watching the discovery channel today and they showed the film "The Flight that Fought Back" which is a tribute to Flight 93 from the 911 tradegedy. Just watching was both inspiring and sad. I had a lump in my throat the whole time and was just on the edge of tears through the whole thing.

I can't imagine the courage and the fear. Its been almost 8 years since this all happened and I hope that people continue to remember that while we all come from different places- that when people come together and have hope- anything is possible.

I decided I needed a new book series to read, so I went to Barnes and Noble about a week and a half ago and started to look for books that reminded me of the same type of fiction that I like to read.

I found a 3 book series called "The Mortal Instruments" and the three Books are: City of Bones, City of Ashes and City of Glass.

The books were recommended to people who liked the Twilight books.  I just finished the first and have started the second book.

Before you get all "OMG TWILIGH EWWW!" They really don't remind me of anything like them. They actually are a combination of what I would consider White Wolf genre, the Underworld movies (based on WW ideas), Gotham City Horror, and a little bit of the Stephanie Meyer books- her book the Host was awesome- no girlie vampire stuff.

These books are about demon hunters. There are also werewolves, vampires, fey, warlocks and witches, demons etc. The book actually portrays the story of a girl as she finds out about her past and who she is and then goes from there.

But I highly recommend them to anyone out there looking for fiction to read.

So my Zune was working last night just fine.  Then today I go to use it and its FROZEN on fthe ZUNE Screen.

So, I try every thing to reboot it, restart it, play, off, on...nothing.

No, it wasn't locked either, and it was charged all the way.

Then I go on the Zune website for help and find out they are calling it Z2K.  Apparently my Zune isn't the only one, 30gigs all over the world are freezing up.  Mine was charging to my computer at the time, because I synched it last night.  My software was up to date. 

They better fix my freaking Zune.

Brain age just monopolized 2 hours of my time.  So addicted. Now my brain hurts.  And I was only 3 blanks away from finishing my sodoku and it failed me...I must have run out of time by 3 fucking squares.

I haven't carved a pumpkin in years. So I suggested it to Zach and we went and got one.  Of course I did all the cutting lol, but he did all the gut cleaning ("cause thats gross"- says the nurse).   Thank god he didn't care, he just dug right in. 

I saved like 100 pumpkin seeds for you Wasta.  They are drying on a pan.  I will send them with Bill next time I see him.

But Mr. Pumpkin is awesome, he is sitting on our table with a blueberry scented tea light (all I had) and yay!

I have decided to leave LJ for multiple reasons.  All of which are my business.

It has been awhile since I have posted.  I'm back to my nightshifts this week, so don't call me until after 4 pm.  I will be sleeping.  This weekend was phenominal!  We went to Chicago for game and I had a blast there.  We stayed at my favorite hotel and had a 32 oz martini!  I walked to game like a total idiot in heels and have blisters now, but the game was still fun.  I rode in my first taxi!  Danny, Sara, Zach and I all went.  We picked up Caity there, and James met us there and thankfully took home the Cedar Falls people so Zach and I could go to our family Easters.  It was a pretty fun weekend.  

Last night we lounged out, drank beer and watched a movie.  SOOOO much driving in a few days makes anyone just want to do nothing.  Now back at work.  Can't wait til the weekend and payday!  Regionals in Des Moines this weekend.  I get to meet my bf Nate's new baby.  And my friend Zach S and his wife had their baby on Easter.  Babies everywhere!  Should be another eventful weekend.  I'll then be happy to finally not go someplace for awhile!

I just realized how many exclamation points I have.  Either I'm really excited or have a ZIO! complex.

So tonight was my second night in a row of 12s.  It is now 6:15...eyes are starting to cross, tummy grumble and body hurt.  Just about an hour an a half and I'm in bed.  So tired, tomorrow is my last day and then I have almost a week off.  Thank god.  Things went well, it was a very QUIET night, and I had some free time.  Which I'm told is rare.  

Thank god for Luck...there must be no crack shrines around to drain it!!!

Worked my first third shift 12 last night.  Not to bad other then I was really tired about 8am when I had to go to the epidural continuing ed seminar.  So about 9:30 I went to bed and I just woke up a half hour ago.  Whoo!  I was supposed to work tonight 11-7 cause of vball practice, but only two people can come so thats kind of a pain in the ass. So I'm trying to find out if its even worth it.  I am so sick of this whole thing and cannot wait for it to be over.  

Girls = Drama and I'm done with it. 

Work again tonight!!!  LOL.  Caffeine!
 

 

Tomorrow is my first 12 hour shift- its orientation still but its 12 hours on the floor- assessing, admitting, discharging, and doing what I have wanted to do for so long.  I will be going to bed by 10 :)

I'm watching Meet Joe Black, and I had forgotten how much I love this movie.  The music, the actors, its just a fabulous movie.  And it puts me into a calm, soft, state of mind.


 

Wait for it...I wasn't wrong.  LOL.   

I picked my new badge from work today- it says Heidi, BSN, RN.  Its amazing how three little words can make my whole day awesome.  

AND if that isn't enough, I seem to have some other things happening.  When it rains, it pours.  Bring it on ;-) wink wink. 

Need to work out and clean.  And sleep, yes.  Definately the last one.

I had a great weekend.  I can't  even talk about it.  I had fun, I'm happy.  Thats all.

Oh, and the GIovanni are being whiners, so I told them all so.  Lucas would have been proud of me telling all those power gaming whores to shut up and deal.  I agree with Wasta, for a lot of reasons that none of you care about or are interested in.  But I'm just saying- things are seeded to change, and I'm okay with it.

Volleyball practice today, hanging with Ron later.

I don't have to be to work tomorrow til almost 10 cause I'm on orientation!  I'm way excited.  Tomorrow I'm going to CR for larp, but picking up a friend in IC so I can't take anyone with me.  After game going to Shannon and Karens to chill and we are going to have some drinks to celebrate my "win".  I love these people.  Seriously.
